Generation next to the heat generator

Photovoltaics as part of the plant

How does the inverter get into the same time series?

The inverter is a data source like the controller. The Solar API is connected, Modbus TCP is there anyway.

What is meant here

HVACloud is not a PV monitoring portal. Photovoltaics comes in as part of the plant, next to the heat generator, because the two belong together: without generation, self consumption can be neither shown nor judged.

How the connection works

Solar API. Implemented, and it reads the inverter over HTTP/JSON.

Modbus TCP. Available anyway, and it is what most inverters speak.

SunSpec Modbus. The common register model for inverters and batteries that bring no API of their own. All three are part of the seventeen built in protocols and not a project per customer. Connectivity

The data point editor maps the values into the same structures as those of the heat generator. Generation and consumption then sit in one time series instead of in two portals.

What that gives you

Self consumption made visible. Energy flow and COP are part of the widget catalogue. Add generation and a consumption curve becomes a balance. Visualisation

Grid services in context. Whoever is to shift load needs to know when power is available. Generation and controllable load on the same instance is the precondition for that, not an extra. Grid services

What we do not claim

We offer no yield forecast, no plant sizing and no direct marketing. Photovoltaics stands here as a data source and, where the inverter allows it, as a controllable unit.

Let us talk about it

Half an hour on a real plant, aimed at the devices you build.
